The Boat Safety Scheme Ltd (BSS) is a public
safety initiative helping to protect people, property and
environments across the UK’s inland
waterways.
A not-for-profit company, working with navigation and
harbour authorities to reduce the risks of boat fires,
explosions, carbon monoxide poisoning, and pollution.
Navigation and harbour authorities use the BSS to help
develop a set of national minimum legal safety requirements,
and to run an examination service to verify that each boat
registered with the navigation authority meets the
requirements.
This is the Boat Safety Scheme Examination and if the boat
meets the requirements, the BSS Examiner will create a Boat
Safety Scheme Certification in our database.
It will be valid for four years. Boat Safety Examinations
can be undertaken in accordance with the Boat Safety Scheme
(BSS). We cover the Severn side area from the Bristol area
along the G&S canal and the lower reaches of the Severn and
Avon rivers. |
